In a village, There was rich business man. He was very kind and religious. He got a very big and beautiful temple built in the village. He also built a rest house for the devotees near the temple. Devotees staying there, were served food free of cost. besides, saints and the poor were also given food for free in the temple as well. The priest of the temple performed all religious ceremonies.
Now the businessman wanted to appoint a manager to look after the administration of the temple and rest house .

Many people came to him for the post of manager because they all had expected a good salary and other benefits, But the businessman rejected them all. Actually, he wanted to appoint a responsible and honest person for the post of the manager.
That is why, he told the candidates who came for the interview that he himself would find out a suitable person.Everyday the doors of temple were opened at five in the morning.The devotees continued to come till late a night. The businessman kept a close watch on the devotees and other visitors from a distance.One day, a poor man came to visit the temple. He was wearing torn clothes and
seemed to be illiterate. When he was going back, the businessman came to him a said. "Would you like  to take charge of the temple as a manager"?
Hearing it, the poor man was very surprised . He stared at the businessman but could not say anything. The businessman said again, Why are you confused ? I really want to appoint you as the manager of the temple. The man replied, I am not educated and I am very poor. How can I manage a temple? The businessman replied , I do not need an educated person for it. Whom I need is faithful and dutiful person. I have been observing you for the last several days.
A stone was lying on the road to the temple.Everyone who came here saw it, but nobody cared to remove it from the way. You are the only person who removed the stone from the way.He continued to say, These days, dutiful people are not easily available.The poor man said, I removed the stone to save others from begin hurt. It is an ordinary social work. Anyone could do this, and there is noting so admirable in it. The businessman clarified his point by saying, I need a person who has an inbuilt attitude of serving others by performing his duties honestly. A responsible person like you can do his work honestly and efficiently. So I have decided to appoint you as the manager of this temple.Hearing this, the poor man couldn't say anything. He accepted the responsibilities given to him as the manager of the temple.He managed the temple affairs to the satisfaction of the businessman.
We should always perform our duty honestly.

एक गाँव में एक धनी व्यापारी था। वह बहुत दयालु और धार्मिक था। उन्होंने गांव में एक बहुत बड़ा और सुंदर मंदिर बनवाया। उन्होंने मंदिर के पास भक्तों के लिए विश्राम गृह भी बनवाया। वहां रहने वाले श्रद्धालुओं को नि:शुल्क भोजन कराया गया। साथ ही मंदिर में संतों और गरीबों को भी मुफ्त में भोजन कराया जाता था। मंदिर के पुजारी ने सभी धार्मिक अनुष्ठान किए। अब व्यापारी मंदिर और विश्राम गृह के प्रशासन की देखभाल के लिए एक प्रबंधक नियुक्त करना चाहता था। प्रबंधक के पद के लिए उनके पास बहुत से लोग आए क्योंकि वे सभी अच्छे वेतन और अन्य लाभों की उम्मीद कर रहे थे, लेकिन व्यवसायी ने उन सभी को अस्वीकार कर दिया। दरअसल, वह प्रबंधक के पद के लिए एक जिम्मेदार और ईमानदार व्यक्ति को नियुक्त करना चाहता था। इसलिए साक्षात्कार के लिए आए अभ्यर्थियों से उन्होंने कहा कि वे स्वयं एक उपयुक्त व्यक्ति का पता लगा लेंगे। प्रतिदिन सुबह पांच बजे मंदिर के कपाट खुल जाते थे। देर रात तक भक्तों का आना जारी रहता था। व्यापारी दूर से ही भक्तों और अन्य आगंतुकों पर कड़ी नजर रखता था। एक दिन, एक गरीब आदमी मंदिर में दर्शन करने आया। उसने फटे कपड़े पहने थे और अनपढ़ लग रहा था। जब वह वापस जा रहा था, तो व्यापारी उसके पास एक कहावत आया। "क्या आप एक प्रबंधक के रूप में मंदिर का प्रभार लेना चाहेंगे"? यह सुनकर बेचारा बड़ा हैरान हुआ। उसने व्यवसायी की ओर देखा लेकिन कुछ न कह सका। व्यवसायी व्यक्ति फिर कहा, तुम भ्रमित क्यों हो? मैं वास्तव में आपको मंदिर के प्रबंधक के रूप में नियुक्त करना चाहता हूं। उस व्यक्ति ने उत्तर दिया, मैं पढ़ा-लिखा नहीं हूं और मैं बहुत गरीब हूं। मैं मंदिर का प्रबंधन कैसे कर सकता हूं? व्यापारी ने उत्तर दिया, मुझे शिक्षित व्यक्ति की आवश्यकता नहीं है इसके लिए। मुझे जिसकी जरूरत है वह है वफादार और कर्तव्यपरायण व्यक्ति। मैं पिछले कई दिनों से आपको देख रहा हूं। मंदिर के रास्ते में एक पत्थर पड़ा था। यहां आने वाले सभी लोगों ने इसे देखा, लेकिन किसी ने इसे रास्ते से हटाने की परवाह नहीं की। पत्थर को रास्ते से हटाने वाले तुम ही हो।वो कहते रहे, आज के जमाने में कर्तव्यपरायण लोग आसानी से नहीं मिलते। बेचारे ने कहा, दूसरों को चोट लगने से बचाने के लिए मैंने पत्थर हटा दिया। यह एक सामान्य सामाजिक कार्य है। ऐसा कोई भी कर सकता है, और इसमें इतनी प्रशंसनीय बात है। व्यवसायी ने अपनी बात स्पष्ट करते हुए कहा, मुझे एक ऐसे व्यक्ति की आवश्यकता है, जिसमें ईमानदारी से अपने कर्तव्यों का पालन करके दूसरों की सेवा करने की अंतर्निहित प्रवृत्ति हो। आप जैसा जिम्मेदार व्यक्ति कर सकता है अपना ईमानदारी और कुशलता से काम करें। इसलिए मैंने तुम्हें इस मंदिर का प्रबंधक नियुक्त करने का फैसला किया है।यह सुनकर बेचारा कुछ नहीं कह सका। उन्होंने मंदिर के प्रबंधक के रूप में उन्हें दी गई जिम्मेदारियों को स्वीकार किया। उन्होंने व्यवसायी की संतुष्टि के लिए मंदिर के मामलों का प्रबंधन किया। हमें हमेशा अपना कर्तव्य ईमानदारी से निभाना चाहिए।
